Over the past several years, La Porte ISD has sought to take a proactive approach in meeting the unique needs of the students and families in the La Porte community by increasing the district's focus on restorative practices such as mediation and trauma-informed positive behavior supports. The district has used a variety of approaches to develop this climate and train staff to work effectively in meeting the social and emotional needs of our student population. Through mediation, the culture of student conflict has improved by great strides. In this workshop, participants will learn about the mediation process and how to effectively walk students through conflict resolution.
