Description
More often than not if staff is asked, "If you have a student in your class in possession of an illegal substance would you be confident that you will handle it the way your school system wants you to?" their response would be, "No." This session offers "quick guide" protocols, for school systems to adopt, to train their personnel in how to handle high risk behaviors as well as mental health crisis in order that all staff will feel more confident in how to handle such situations. Staff step-by-step protocols will be offered for substance abuse, non-suicidal self-injury, bullying, suicidal ideation, and more. The session will also provide a mental health framework as it relates to three components Identifies as prevention, responsive services, and crisis response.
